Simple Index of Course Webpages 2022 Fall MU & KUL

The Final Paper by MU students for this course constitutes 50% of the course grade.

Note Course Paper Requirement: All papers must be formatted in accord with the Style Sheet of the Revue de Théologie et Philosophie Médiévale (RTPM). Link Also see https://poj.peeters-leuven.be/content.php?url=journal&journal_code=RTPM. As long as you meet these stipulations, proceed as you prefer. A sample paper by Luis Xavier López-Farjeat is available in Varia.

Although we will be working together, the course paper requirements and deadlines for MU and KUL are very different. This page concerns only MU.

MU papers should be 20+ pages and be indicative of strong professional graduate level research and writing. Each paper must include an additional first page with an outline of the paper and its arguments. This must not exceed one page. Grammar, spelling and reasoning are expected to be near perfect since it is expected the submitted paper will be thoroughly proofread. Papers must be prepared as if being submitted to the RTPM. Unprofessionally prepared papers will be significantly downgraded.

Take special note of the paper requirements detailed below:

  1. Format: Put your paper outline on the line immediately below your title. Next put in your paper’s Abstract. After that place your paper with lines double spaced. As for notes, use footnotes. Submit your paper to Turnitin.com as a WORD or PDF file.
  2. Students must meet with me individually on Friday 4 November or Thursday 3 November to discuss paper topics. You should already have developed ideas about paper possibilities. You must bring to this meeting two copies of a preliminary outline of your paper for discussion. If you have not progressed this far or do not have a topic, come with ideas and we will work together on possibilities.
  3. I am making myself available at my MU Office Friday 4 November for appointments of up to 30 minutes. 9-9:30 (Mariamni Plested), 9:30-10, 10-10:30 (Ryan Syler), 10:30-11 (Andrew Spease), 11-11:30 (Damon), 11:30-12 (Dylan Anderson via TEAMS); and 2-2:30 (Jonmarc Bennett), 2:30-3 (Wynne Thom), 3-3:30 (Alex Dong), 3:30-4, 4-4:30 (Paul Quesnel), 4:30-5 (Noah Levine), 5-5:30 (Livi Czernik), 5:30-6 (Arthur Jaworski). And also Thursday 3 November 1-1:30 (Xander Vaughn), 1:30-2 (Bret Zagar), or 5-5:30. Each student must meet me in person or arrange with me to meet on TEAMS. If none of these times work for you, we may have to do this some evening of that same week. Send me 2-3 options for scheduling your appointment. I will arrange these on the basis of a “first come, first serve” basis.
  4. I will be glad to meet to discuss paper content issues and paper outlines. I will not read complete paper drafts. However, if you submit your complete course paper to me by 20 November, I will read and grade it and return it to you on 1 December. You may then decide to take the grade given or you may revised the paper and submit the revised paper by the deadline for all final course papers.
  5. Final course papers are due on 13 December. All papers must be submitted to Turnitin.com and also to me by noon 13 December. This is the final deadline. I am emailing you the Class ID and Enrollment key.
